We are RedRock Labradors, and we have been breeding quality, English-style Labs, for over 30 years! This style, which most people refer to as “Blocky – Stocky,” is the familiar look that you see in the "Conformation Show" ring. We have previously shown our Labs in many rings around the country, and even in Canada, where the "Rock Foundation" of our business, Am/Can CH Chelons Teton of RedRock CD, was pointed and ended up as American/Canadian Champion. From there, he took us, our handler, and three others to the “Superbowl” of dog shows….The Westminster Kennel Club show in New York City’s Madison Square Garden!!! It was an honor and a privilege to be entered in that prestigious venue. It was an awesome experience, one that most people don’t realize, is "Once in a Lifetime!"
We are dedicated to doing all we can to make sure we are producing puppies that carry on the right physical qualities, as well as the friendly, willing temperament English Labs are sought out for. All of our Mommies and Daddies, are registered by AKC, have had hips and elbows certified by OFA, and have had their eyes cleared through CERF. But just recently, eye certification is handled by ECR, a part of the OFA. We also test for EIC and PRA.
Our puppies are socialized from the day they’re born, and we expect that to continue even after they go to their new home environment, at about 8 weeks. They will have had their dew-claws removed, been wormed twice, and given two immunizations. The first one being a Parvo shot, and the second, a combination puppy shot.
Each puppy is given a temperament test, starting at age 6 weeks of age. The test encompasses ten scenarios, including fetching, dominance, and gun-shyness (in case you want a hunter), just to name a few. Each test is given three times, at different times a day, such as after naps, eating, so conditions are different. The test is based on the Volhard test. We do this so we can best match the qualities you are looking for in a dog (hunting, service, athletic, mellow,etc) with the right puppy.
